Think your pickles have what it takes? Home picklers are invited to submit their best homemade pickles in one of five categories. Entries are judged in advance by a panel of pickle-loving judges, and the winners of each category, plus one overall Best in Show, are announced live at Picklefest.
The Five Categories to Pickle Royalty
Pick your lane and dominate:
- Best Dill (vinegar-based)
- Best Kosher (naturally fermented)
- Best Spicy (any style)
- Most Creative — Vinegar
- Most Creative — Lacto-Ferment
…and overall "Best in Show"!
Rules for Entering
- Entries should primarily be pickled cucumbers. Other pickled vegetables or fruits may be accepted in the Most Creative categories, provided they fit the category definition and meet food-safety requirements.
- Each participant may submit up to two entries total.
- Each entry must be entered into one category only.
- One clearly labelled jar is required per entry.
- Entry fee includes one festival ticket.
- Jars will not be returned.
- Total contest entries are capped at 50 per market.
Process
- Participants must prepare to submit one clearly labelled jar per entry.
- Participants drop off jars at location and time specified per market.
- At drop-off, participants will fill out an application form at the taproom with their name, email, phone number, and category.
- Attend the Picklefest event for winners announcement!
